There are lots of things that you can do with Intelligent Agents within D2L.  If you're new to IA's, here's a quick summary.

Idea 1: Welcome Letter (admin - school level)

This is an email from the program Principal (or VP) to all new students (Pre-Activation) to inform them about some school expectations.  

Settings:

    • Role in Classlist = Pre-Activation Learner
    • Release conditions = n/a
    • Repetition = Only the first time.
    • Change user enrollment = n/a
    • Send an email = Yes, see below.

Teachers may want to have a personalized welcome for students entering this specific course. 

Settings:

    • Role in Classlist = Learner
    • Release conditions = 
    • Repetition = Only the first time.
    • Change user enrollment = n/a

Idea 3: Regular Progress Required (admin - school level)

Some students will need to be reminded about your program's requirements, around regular access and/or progress.   Along with the student reminder, the admin may want some of these to go to their email, as a notice and possible follow-up. 

Settings:

    • Role in Classlist = Learner
    • Release conditions = Not logged in for the last 7 days
    • Repetition = Only the first time (you can make another one for 14 days)
    • Change user enrollment = n/a
    • Send an email = Yes, see below (admin may wish to be cc'd after 14 days?).

Idea 4: Awesome Score! (teacher - course level)

If a student get's a particularly high result in a test, assignment, or project, some positive reinforcement may be due.  

Settings:

Idea 4: Half-Way! (teacher - course level)

Upon hitting the half-way mark in the course, a bit of extra reinforcement and encouragement may be due.

Idea 5: Out of Order (teacher - course level)

If you want a notice about students doing things out-of-order (eg. jumping into Unit 2 quizzes before finishing Unit 1, or skipping tests, or skipping projects or.....), then perhaps you want a notice of this to address.
