English 10 - COMP - Unit 1

POST TITLE = Teacher Changes REQUIRED!

Video Summary

Summer of 2025 updates to EN10 - COMP include:
  1. Improved explanations.
  2. New videos and interactives.
  3. Greater teacher flexibility for assignments*
*While the first two changes don't require any work on your part, the third* does!
 
Each teacher MUST follow these required steps prior to Sept 15, 2025.   This work will ensure that all assignment details are independent of the lessons, allowing more teacher flexibility.
 
On Sept 15, 2025, all assignment redundancies will be removed.  If you have all of the required steps done, then all is perfect.   If you don't, then there will be confusion among your students.

English 10 - COMP - Units 2-5

NOTE:   These changes are strongly suggested, as it'll help your students.   Given that, the old "big lessons" will not be removed until July 1, 2026.   Please find time to update between now and July 1st to update.   Of course, if you are planning to grab a new course next summer, then this won't be necessary (as it's already done in the available master).

Units 2-5 updates to EN10 - COMP involve:
  1. D2L Admin:  Load new mini-lessons for Units 2-5 per Video Summary.
  2. Teacher:  Replace all assignments (ensuring that all details from big lessons are included).
  3. Teacher:  Delete the "big lesson" when everything else is in place.
  4. Move forward with more expanded lessons, easier nav for students, and increased flexibility.

Thanks to Anneke and the dev team, there have been some significant changes to English 11 this summer.
 
Summer of 2025 updates to English 11 include:
  1. Improved explanations.
  2. New videos and interactives.
  3. Greater teacher flexibility for assignments*
*While the first two changes don't require any work on your part, the third* DOES.
 
Each teacher MUST follow these required steps prior to Sept 15, 2025.   This work will ensure that all assignment details are independent of the lessons, allowing more teacher flexibility.  Video Summary
 
On Sept 15, 2025, all assignment redundancies will be removed.  If you have all of the required steps done, then all is perfect.   If you don't, then there will be confusion among your students.
 
Once done the above, you'll need to (VIDEO):
  • Change the names of lessons and assignments in the course.
  • Also, you'll want to add the new assignment (2.0) into the gradebook with a rubric.

English Studies 12

Summer of 2025 updates to English Studies 12 include:
  1. Improved explanations.

  3. Greater teacher flexibility for assignments*
*While the first two changes don't require any work on your part, the third* does!
 
Each teacher MUST follow these required steps prior to Sept 15, 2025.   This work will ensure that all assignment details are independent of the lessons, allowing more teacher flexibility.  Video Summary

  3. Quizzes and Final are now Ready!!*
*While the first two changes don't require any work on your part, the third* does!
 
Each teacher MUST  (VIDEO):
  • un-hide all of the quizzes and exams
  • add each to the gradebook
  • organize the gradebook to match the outline
